4th of July

Jake, our little "cowboy"

Grandkid float for the parade

I was able to go to my mom's house for the 4th of July this weekend. Maya and Jake are here for the summer from Boston and I just couldn't wait until our family reunion this week to see them. On Friday night they have a kids rodeo in Panguitch. My cousin Alicia's little boy Cody who is 5 years old is a true cowboy, so when he said he was going to ride a sheep in the rodeo Jake decided he would give it a shot also. I am so sad I didn't get good pictures of either of them riding the sheep, it was too dark in the rodeo arena and neither of them rode for more than a few seconds so I'm glad I got a picture of Jake before the rodeo.
On Saturday morning they have a little kid parade where kids decorate and ride their bike up and down main street and throw candy. Because there are too many kids we figure it's easier to just decorate a little trailer and haul them all in it at the same time. All the kids had a good time and grandma was a good sport to ride in and supervise them while they threw candy, popcicles and otter pops. Fun times in the big town of Panguitch!
